The OSU Library has an opening for Summer 2024 for a Security Student Assistant.  The student assistant works in conjunction with the Security Coordinator.




What You'll Do

  1. The security assistant is responsible for the security of the building, interpreting library policy to patrons or staff, opening and closing of the building, and patrolling the building to ensure patrons are in compliance with the library’s rules of conduct and that the building meets all safety and fire codes.
  2. Security will also handle emergencies such as fire evacuations, medical emergencies, and safety issues.
  3. The security assistant will monitor patrons entering and exiting the building.
  4. The security assistant will be required to attend various meetings and training sessions.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have completed at least two full semesters at OSU Stillwater.
  • Must work a minimum of 8 hours per week of the available shifts.
  • Must refrain from using electronic devices while on duty.
  • Must be responsible and show integrity.


MUST BE ENROLLED AT OSU.  Work Study encouraged.
