Digital Curation and Machine Learning Internship

The Edmon Low Library has an opening for one DIGITAL CURATION and MACHINE LEARNING INTERN to work in the summer 2019. Hours will be scheduled Monday-Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Employment as an intern is on a semester-by-semester basis. Continued employment is contingent on funding and performance. This position may be eligible for internship credit for some majors. Filing for credit is the responsibility of the student.

What You'll Do
In this role, the Digital Curation and Machine Learning intern will be responsible for preparing large sets of photographs and other associated materials to apply machine learning and train neural networks to enhance the discovery and access of digital collections held in the University Archives.
This internship will be highly collaborative. Communication, documentation of work and attention to detail will be essential.
Required Qualifications
- OSU student enrolled at least part-time (6 hours undergraduate/ 4 hours graduate).
- Experience with Unix command line, Python, and Excel
- Knowledge of relational database, Java and other programs would be an asset, as well as having the ability to learn new programs
