What You'll Do
Responsible for research, analysis and development of Library related new technologies, including vendor based as well as in-house applications. Proactively research, test and recommend current emerging technologies. Design/build necessary servers/services and transition to other Units as assigned. Liaison on R&D for other Units as well as collaborate with Library's different Departments for current technological needs and requirements. Research, analyze and recommend for overall Library related emerging technological trend including servers, applications, devices, paradigm, etc. Manage projects, prepare necessary documentation and regularly update project management tool. Function as backup server admin for other units as necessary.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience or high school and eight years related experience and demonstrated progress toward bachelor's degree.
Knowledge of Windows, Mac, MS Office, Adobe Suite, networked systems, imaging solutions, Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, Linux Server, Mac OS, VMware, Enterprise Print Management. Knowledge of setting up, configuration, and maintaining computer systems. The ability to diagnose and resolve a wide variety of complex computer related problems in Windows OS and Mac OS environment with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, highly self motivated, capable of managing multiple projects, prepare necessary documentation, and able to keep meticulous documentation.
Ability to work with minimum supervision and independently. Also able to work as a member of a team or collaborative environment in accomplishing tasks is highly desirable. Supervisory and demonstrated leadership experience. Must be able to lift 35 lbs. and work on floor and under desks when necessary. May require some nights and weekends as needed to update system and provide support during peak periods. Excellent written communication skills and solid interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and liaison with a diverse audience of professionals. Ability to maintain websites; troubleshoot; and repair and resolve user hardware and software problems.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business or related field and ten years of related experience or Master's degree and eight years of related experience.
Demonstrated leadership skills. Knowledge of managing and deployment of Deep Freeze by Faronics, KACE Systems Management Appliance and KACE Systems Deployment Appliance by Quest, Enterprise Print Management solutions by PrinterLogic, Digital Signage, Physical/VMware Virtual environment, SAN in HPE environment, switches, CommVault Backup solutions.
