Annex Management Student Assistant II

The Library Annex/Special Collections and University Archives (off-campus) has an opening for a student assistant to work approximately 10 to 20 hours per week.

Hours / Available shifts:

  • Hours will be scheduled between 8:00am and 5:00pm. Monday through Friday
  • On the application under “hours available” list all days and times you are willing to work. Be specific. Availability is a key factor in the hiring process.

What You'll Do

  • Aid in the reorganization and inventory of archival materials.
  • Aid in loading and unloading incoming & outgoing materials.
  • Lifting, bending, stooping, carrying boxes and materials (some very heavy.)
  • Working with equipment and on ladders.
  • Aid in rearranging and labeling shelving in storage areas.
  • Aid in responsibility for the physical security of the building and its property.
  • Ability to work with various computer software programs.
  • Assembling archival storage boxes.
  • Simple cleaning duties in the storage and processing areas.
  • Proficient handwriting/labeling skills.
  • Aid in the processing of materials per archival standards

Required Qualifications

  • Student applicants must be motivated, physically capable, and independently dependable to be successful in this position.
  • This will be a physically demanding position for students requiring repetitive movement and at times, heavy lifting.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift 50 lb. boxes.
  • Students should also be aware of allergens that may come from dust on books and shelving.
  • Ability to observe confidentiality restrictions and maintain security of materials.

MUST BE ENROLLED AT OSU

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous library experience preferred.
